I just finished producing the feature film DeadTime on the same principle. We had an amazing cast and crew that were all prepared to muck in. It wasn't all plain sailing but we did pull it off. We did also have a budget for the film, but it wasn't massive.

70% of the crew brought along extras outside of the budget, or mucked in to create the experience required on film and that was all that mattered.

With self belief you really can do anything, but it helps if you've already created something from nothing, after that doubts never really enter your mind.

People still can't believe it was made for £45 - then again they won't be able to believe what DeadTime was made for either ;)

Hmm. So the catchy story we all heard about the £45 film that sweeped the world at Cannes came about by lazy reporting!
Damn! I've got to find me a lazy reporter who can misreport my film 'The Vampires of Bloody Island' as being the latest smash that kicks Twilight in the teeth and reclaims Vampire Films for Britain! I feel a press release coming on!
(More details at www.bloodyisland.co.uk if you're interested. And I politely point out that you should be!!) :)

    About Chris

I am just like you. Passionate. Crazy mad. For movies that is. Can’t get enough. Watching movies. Making movies. Talking about movies. Drives my girlfriend Lucia nuts! So yep. Passionate, crazy and mad. And yes, I am a little schizo too. Thing is, I love making films as much as I do teaching film making. Hence, Make Film, Teach Film. I have spent my life making films and sharing what I have learned with those who, like me, have been infected with the 'film virus'... I've made three feature films, action thriller ‘The Runner’, serial killer thriller ‘White Angel’ and paranormal horror ‘Urban Ghost Story’. I also co-created and authored The Guerilla Film Makers Handbook series, and currently there are six editions! Most recently, I made the multi-award winning and Oscars shortlisted ‘Gone Fishing’. I run film making workshops and my offices are at Ealing Film Studios where I am currently plotting my next big adventure…
